Movies When You Twist Them

Earlier tonight I was watching Journey to the Center of the Earth with one of my friends, while renaming the characters and adding my own commentary, a lot of which had to do with the fact that one of the main characters is played by a much younger, much less blonde Josh Hutcherson, best known for his role in The Hunger Games (he played Peeta, in case in wasn’t obvious).

So I thought, well I could do this with other movies, too.  I guess I have been going blog-crazy lately, so bear with me, but I think it’s good to put my ideas out there.

Thought Popcorn is the result.

You’re Like a Kite

My sister came up to me today and told me there was this new song she liked and she wanted me to listen to it. I did and it was pretty decent, but something disturbed me greatly about the song. This is one of the lines from said song: “So tired of living like a kite, kite, kite, kite.” The thing that bugged me is that it implies the person the song is directed at is like a, well, kite. Personally, I would rather not be compared to a flimsy piece of rainbow fabric with a ribbon tail that flies in the sky at parks and beaches and gets tangled in trees. But that’s just me.

The song, in case you were wondering, is “Open Seasons” by High Highs, and you can get the lyrics here.

Over

That’s right, you heard me: over. Or rather, Over. It’s quite possibly my new fav app. It adds words to photos in an unexpected, beautiful way. It’s not just captions, it’s art. Here are three pics I created using the genius of this amazing app.

Over works with both iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch. It’s $1.99, but is on sale currently for $0.99, and it’s completely worth every penny.

Monday + Friday = The Perfect Week (Plus: Mockingjays vs. Mockingbirds)

Today was a two-day week. I didn’t start school until Thursday, so it felt like a Monday, and the next day (today) was Friday! I could do this every week!

We started reading To Kill A Mockingbird in English. I keep almost saying To Kill A Mockingjay. I think that could be Suzanne Collin’s next book. It would be the story of the Hunger Games, told from President Snow’s prespective as he attempts to kill the “mockingjay”, A.K.A. Katniss and/or the rebel spirit. Yay? Nay?
